"Drones, Clones and Pheromones"

Three great events must occur for humanity to reach full maturity as a species: master the forces of nature, escape the bonds of our birth planet, and take control of our own evolution. We have split the atom, walked on the moon, and now we verge on the final step.

Whether or not we like the idea of cloning humans, whether or not it is legal, someday it will happen. When it does, cloning scientists will optimize them in every way possible. For some parents, this will be no different from wanting the best education or health care for their offspring. For others it will be the opportunity to eliminate genetic diseases such as diabetes, Down's syndrome, or Sickle Cell Anemia. So this may prove to be a boon for humanity as our descendents become healthier, smarter and more talented.

However, when governments and corporations undertake cloning, their motives will likely be far more sinister. They can be expected to secretly create both servile agents, and super warriors, and probably create clones with minimum intelligence for organ harvesting, medical experimention, or for use by the militry to test the effects of weapons on human bodies.

When clones finally do live among us, some people will welcome them as brothers, but too many will fear and hate them. Religions may condemn them or exploit fear of them for fund raising. The legal issues will be staggering. Some states will pass laws protecting their human rights, in spite of attempts to amend the constitution to deny them human status. It will be a struggle for mankind's survival when it faces its ultimate challenge, human clones who are our superiors. Ultimately, they will treat us as we have treated them.

Description:

“Drones, Clones and Pheromones” is a future-fiction, action-packed feature film set in the year 2030. It is the first of a trilogy following the epic saga of a cloned human being.

It shall be filmed to Hollywood's highest production standards for distribution first to the theaters of the world, and then to broadcast and video markets. The cast is being carefully assembled with an eye to the best acting talent for each role, and name recognition for significant characters.

It is a coming-of-age story about a teenage boy clone named Felix as a metaphor for mankind's coming-of age. He, along with other secretly created clones, is coming out into the open in an attempt to assimilate with the rest of humanity.

A devastating war for supremacy between human clones and breeding humans seems unavoidable, and the clones have the mental and physical advantage.

The one who could save us from extinction is a teenage boy named Felix, a clone so different from everyone else, as to be the first of a truly new human race. He was given experimental DNA enhancements by his creator, Dr. Victor Darwin, which are brought to the test when a clone-hunting militia attempts to massacre his entire tribe.

Clones use powerful, synthetic pheromones to make drones of politicians, lawyers and cops for protection, but Felix makes them in his own body to attract and control people. He is smart, big hearted and playful. He can also be a "bad-ass" if you challenge him.

Felix fights to find a place to belong in the world, but only gets murderous hatred in return. He struggles with the ethics of using his special powers, and enjoys the love of his clone family, but finds a moral compass  and comes of-age through his intimate relationship with Will, an exceptionally gifted non-clone without the benefit of DNA enhancements.

Autumn of 2030.

Mankind faces extinction from birth mutations caused by prions akin to mad cow disease. A teenage boy named Felix, a clone so radical as to be the first of a new human species, holds the key to saving us. He is also the cause, a fact known only to his creators, Jonathan his prototype and Dr. Victor Darwin. Felix’s surrogate mother, Darwin’s wife, died giving birth to him from anaphylactic shock, an unexpected consequence of his altered DNA. Her death released deadly prions which had attached themselves to her necrosis pheromones. Jonathan’s horror at their mistake drives him on a mission to destroy all clones and cloners. Darwin adopts Felix as his own, raising him at the Human Destiny Foundation where they live with other clones Doc created.
Cloning is a federal crime. The Senate debates an amendment denying human status to clones, but Californians amended their constitution to grant them full human rights. To protect his clone families, Darwin creates powerful pheromones to make slavish drones of politicians, lawyers and cops, but Felix can, at will, make them in his own body. A televangelist Jerry Orwell seizes the opportunity for massive donations by preaching God would not put souls into cloned bodies. He allies his church’s private militia with Agent Sheldon of the DOJ who is charged with terminating clones. Sheldon’s secret agenda is to capture Felix’s DNA for military purposes. A devastating war for supremacy between human clones and breeding humans seems unavoidable.
The tribe lives in secrecy, but Felix is determined to come out into the open to be part of humanity. He is
smart, big hearted and playful, but a bad ass when attacked by clonophobes. He struggles with the ethics of droning and using his special powers. Luckily, a bright and decent college student Will takes a guard job at the Foundation. Through their fiery, but ultimately intimate, relationship he finds his moral compass and becomes a man. Tribe security presses him to make Will his drone but he defies the order recognizing free will as vital to a real friendship and love with Will.
A high speed motorcycle chase of a young clone Jason results in his kidnapping by DOJ agents and the murder of the cop drone assigned to protect him. This jolts Felix into his quest to resolve the ethical dilemma of droning. The tribe mounts a rescue mission and succeeds in freeing all the captive clones being used by Jonathan as lab rats at Orwell’s clinic. For a while life returns to normal, but the sense of security is horribly false. A DOJ mole betrays the clones using the trust of the clone woman who loves him. His unmasking, reveals that Will too is not droned and security intends to do it against Felix’s wishes. Felix rescues Will and they flee to the woods where they find in each other their life companion. With new confidence, Felix returns to the Foundation and persuades the tribe to end droning.
The government agents bolstered by Orwell’s militia invade the Foundation and massacre Jason’s family during their birthday party. The foundation erupts in battle, as Jonathan personally attempts to kill Felix with his bare hands to end what he believes is his greatest sin. Felix must use his special abilities to save himself and end the killing.

The Origin of the Title:

The subject is cloning is well known to most people by now.  Public awareness of pheromones is certainly on the horizon. Most people know of drones as they relate to colonies of bees. Putting those three rhyming words together as a descriptive name for the story was irresistable. The use of one word movie titles is cliche and unimaginative. It is a working title and may be changed by the time the film is released.
