The Producer Director

WAYNE SCHOTTEN

With a life long passion and fascination for film making, Wayne Schotten has worked on hundreds of films from features to educational films, many of which have won awards. His previous feature "The Knight in Glass Armor" won best dramatic feature at the Hollywood edition of the New York Independent International Film Festival.  His life long hunger to comprehend both humanity, and the physical sciences has given birth to his current project, "Drones, Clones and Pheromones".

He learned the crafts of film production and film editing on the job in Los Angeles while assisting film editors and camera crews. Classes in acting and seminars in directing rounded out his education as a director.  He has made his home in San Francisco where he has earned a reputation for his knowledge and craftsmanship in film making and his willingness to mentor younger film makers. He says, "Movies are the highest manifestation of story telling, and we react to them as if to real life. Above all, they entertain us, but they also inform us and inspire insight into our nature."

With his extensive experience in filmmaking, and his award winning films, he is an eminently qualified director. On the other hand, for anyone who would characterize him as a first time director, it's educational to look at the profit making record of first time film directors. Click here to see the chart.

Editor

VIVIEN HILLGROVE

If she had never accomplished anything more, Vivien Hillgrove would deserve our eternal appreciation alone for her editing of "Amadeus" for The Saul Zaentz Company.  Fortunately for film lovers she crafted many other great films among which are "Henry and June", "The Unbearable Lightness of Being", "The Right Stuff", and "Blue Velvet."

Listed officially as "dialogue editor" it is worth noting that this is the editing step which actually creates the film from the many film clips created by the director. It has been said that a movie performance doesn't happen until the dialogue editor brings it to life on an editing machine. She also worked on the Stars Wars series and many other films.

Vivien is also extremely active in mentoring the middle school and high school cinema departments in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Composer

ANDREAS VOLLENWEIDER

Andreas Vollenweider is one of the true pioneers of modern music. He won a Grammy for "Down to the Moon", and his tour to promote his latest CD "Vox" was a triumph.  He has written scores for many films, in a range of genres that is remarkable for its breadth and quality. His creation of his own electronic harp and the use of computers by his band members is a source of amazing, beautiful music. His style of creation is to first write a scenario of a story, then he and his fellow musicians transform it into musical expression. It is said there is a tradition of burning the scenario in the fireplace once the music is completed. He is also an outstanding and outspoken humanitarian and a fierce advocate world peace.

Science Advisor

CHARLES GREER, P.H.D.

We have been unbelievably fortunate in having Dr. Charles Greer as science advisor.  Projecting into the future in a plausible way, requires accurate, up-to-date science.  Dr. Greer has been extremely generous with his support for the ideas inherent in "Drones, Clones and Pheromones" and faithful in keeping us realistic. To our view that makes the finest science fiction.
